Ordering a Repeat Prescription

Repeat Prescriptions

These are provided by computer and usually you will be asked to come in to see your Doctor or our Clinical Pharmacist at regular intervals to have the medication reviewed.

Please note that in the interest of patient safety it is practice policy to refuse to issue further medication if a patient repeatedly fails to attend for their medication review. However you will receive written notice of this with your final prescription.

To avoid errors, requests for repeat prescriptions are NOT accepted by telephone. Please either request your repeat prescriptions using our Contact us online form or alternatively please bring or send your computer slip for to the practice, clearly marking which items you require and allowing at least 72 hours for the request to be processed.

Repeat Prescriptions via Patient Services

If you have registered for the Online Services with Patient Access you will also be able to request your repeat prescription electronically. This system is called the EPS or Electronic Prescribing System. This means no paper prescription is printed out. The request for medication is authorised by your GP and sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.

To use the EPS service please fill in the form at reception. Alternatively if you would still like to have a paper prescription you may still choose a pharmacy from the list, your prescription will be collected from the surgery  by the pharmacy and once prepared you may then collect your medication direct from that pharmacy.

If you choose this option you should allow extra time for the pharmacy to pick up the prescription.

We are not a dispensing practice.
